It's officially No Shave November. Are you participating?
Shaving damages your skin, so let's put down the razor and consider a different method of hair removal. I personally prefer waxing for myself and all of my clients. And the cooler months are the perfect time to start waxing if you haven't already started.
Here are a few reasons why you should try waxing:
Ingrown Hairs
Shaving, for most, irritates the skin causing painful ingrown hairs. Ingrown hairs are caused by a lack of proper exfoliation and cutting the hair rather than removing the hair at the root. Improper exfoliation creates a buildup of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin and traps the hairs underneath. If ingrown hairs are not properly treated, removed, and prevented you can end up with some seriously damaged (hyperpigmented) skin.
Exfoliation
Waxing provides exfoliation. Once the mild redness retreats you'll be left with smooth, glowing skin. Wax adheres to both hair and skin. When the wax is removed those dead cells come up with it.
Time
Shaving is time-consuming. It has to be done on a daily or weekly basis, taking up precious time that you could use for something more productive. Waxing (depending on what and where you get waxed) takes 15 minutes to an hour and the results last for weeks, saving you a ton of time to do something you love.
