Take a Break

Inhale. Exhale. Relax.
Life is crazy. We get caught up in daily tasks, working, errands, kids, pets, spouses, friends, meetings... the list goes on. We're busy, life is busy but we have to make time to just relax. Take a break from life. Find some time for you. If we're constantly on the go it can affect our health. Our bodies need time to recoup. Stress directly affects our immune system, so relaxation helps boost our immunity and stay healthy.
I am constantly working on something, but at least once a week I make some time for myself. Whether it's giving myself a mani-pedi or a mini facial, I find the time and you should too. Daily stress relief is best for our well-being and is highly recommended but if this doesn't work for your schedule try to schedule yourself some YOU time once a week.
Meditation
I know some out there really believe that meditation is done in a specific way and you have to be able to have a completely empty mind to "successfully" meditate. This simply isn't true. Just close your eyes for a few minutes or a few hours (however much YOU time you want or need) and just let the thoughts come and go. Focus on your breath, and accept the thoughts that enter and let them fade away. This is a time to relax, don't stress if you don't think you're doing it "right" - there is no right or wrong here.
Yoga
Do a quick sun salutation and focus on your breath work. Let your mind be at ease and stretch your muscles at the same time. Yoga is a great medium for relaxing. And it can be a quick session, or spend some time doing some of your favorite asanas. I'm sure you will feel relaxed and refreshed after this.
Tea
Drink some of your favorite tea. To me, there's nothing more relaxing than steeping a great tea. And drinking the tea is relaxing all on its own. Use your tea time to reflect on what makes you happy and what you love about yourself.
Art
If you're artistic, make some art. Whether its a drawing, painting, or creating something in your favorite medium, do it. Creative release is great for the mind, body, and soul.
Self-Care
This can be self-massage or giving yourself a mini facial, or maybe just painting your nails. Whatever you decide on, enjoy it and love yourself.
